Creating your Session
I am an On-Site Natural Light Photographer. I want to make your session something that you will remember as fun for you and your family. Before your session I will met with you to consult with you about your thoughts, ideas, and expectations. This is your session and I want to make it personal for you.
What you can expect:
I will shoot a variety of poses that are both natural and some more formal depending upon what you choose. I am willing to take the time to work with you and your children (even if they may not be as cooperative as you like) to create that "perfect" memory. Sometimes the best photos are completely unplanned and spontaneous. I aim to have your photo shoot completed within the time alloted, but that may not always be the case. As a mom I know that your little one may not do what we want him or her to do. Breaks may be needed to keep children and babies happy during their shoot. In that case, if you and your child or baby are willing to stay longer than our scheduled time, a session may run over an hour to ensure we capture breath taking photographs.

What to wear:
What to wear will depend on the style and look you want for your photograph. I like to keep the focus on the subject(s), therefore, simple clothing choices are best for creating simple yet timeless portraits. Solid color clothing is highly recommended. Please try to avoid patterns on clothes or company/store logos. For a more natural look, casual dress is recommended. If families or children are being photographed together, clothes that coordinate in color and/or style looks the best. You are welcome to bring several outfits to the session for my opinion. I recommend that you photograph your child and/or children as you would see them everyday, as you would remember them.
What to bring:
There is not much you need to bring with you to your photo session. If you or your children have something special that you are wanting to use as a prop please bring it and we can use it in some of your photos. If you want to do a clothing change bring everything you will need for that outfit, including shoes or go barefoot. For outdoor photo sessions remember to apply sunscreen far enough in advance that it is absorbed into your skin and does not make sand stick to your skin. Apply it lightly so it does not make your skin shinny and glossy looking. The sun is intense here so please don't skip the sunscreen.

The beginning...
This is the first step in the beginning of FootSteps Photography. FootSteps Photography started out as my love of capturing "the moment" grew after my daughter Alexa was born. She has brought so much joy to my life being able to have the photographs to remember every step and the journey she has taken so far along the way. My interest in photography stems from my love of art. I am a third generation artist in my family. I remember growing up in my dad's shop learning the ABC's and colors even before I went to school. As I grew up, I helped him in the family business learning about art, composition, layout, design, and color hands on. After I graduated from High School I attended the University of Arkansas to pursue my degree in Fine Art. A year after marrying my husband, Michael, he joined the US Air Force and we moved from Arkansas to Keesler AFB then to Moody AFB. I transferred to Valdosta State University in South Georgia and finished my degree in Fine Art studying Graphic Design, Photography and Printmaking techniques.
There are a lot of things that make up a great photograph. A good photography is not just about pointing and shooting but rather about the individual components that make up the overall image. A photograph should be something that you would hang on your wall as you would a fine art piece.
Time does not stand still, so we should treasure every moment we have with our families. Our children grow up so quickly and before you know it they are grown. They are only little once in their lives. I believe that we should preserve our family memories and what a great way to do it -- photography.
